Engagement Rings
Custom engagement rings, made for one person
Most of the rings we make never appear on this site. Each one is designed for a particular person, so there is no stock to choose from and no two are alike.
Annabel and Isabella design and our exceptional jewellers make every ring by hand in our Sydney workshop, for clients across New Zealand, Australia and the world. You work with the two of us directly, from the first conversation to the finished ring.
You do not need to know what you want
Most people arrive with a feeling rather than a design. Something they would actually wear. Something that sits alongside a ring they already owns. Something to do with a stone that has been in a drawer for thirty years.
That is the easier place to start, not the harder one. Working out what the ring should be is part of what you are paying us for.
Lab-grown or natural
We work with both and we do not push either.
Our lab-grown stones are IGI certified at VVS clarity, D to E colour. Our natural stones are GIA certified and we source stones based on your chosen budget, specifications and vision.
Which one suits you depends on what you want from the ring, not on what the industry would rather sell. We will tell you plainly what you would notice on a hand and what only shows under a loupe.
How it works
- Talk it through. An chat with Annabel or Isabella, in person, via email or over video. Bring an idea, a photograph, a stone, or nothing at all.
- Choose the stone. We source to your brief and show you the options side by side, photographed and filmed in daylight so you see what we see.
- See the design. A sketch, then a render. We adjust it until it is right. Nothing is made until you have approved it.
- Made at the bench. Six weeks from approval to the finished ring, in its box.
What it costs
Our custom engagement rings start from $5,000. Custom doesn't mean more expensive. Any budget is possible, and any stone can be sourced.
You will have a firm price before anything is made, and we will tell you where your budget is better spent. Usually that means a smaller stone cut beautifully rather than a larger one that is not.
If you are in New Zealand, Australia or beyond
Appointments happen over video or email. Stones are photographed and filmed in daylight, so you are seeing what we see rather than a retouched image. Everything ships insured, both ways. We can send you a ring sizer before you order, and resizing is free for as long as you own the ring.
If there is a stone in the family
Share it with us. A grandmother's ring, a stone from a marriage that ended, something nobody has worn since the seventies.
The stone keeps its history. The setting does not have to. We will show you what is possible with what you already have before you consider buying anything new, and tell you honestly if the stone is not up to what you are imagining.
I don't know their ring size?
That is more common than not. Plenty of our clients propose with a ring made to be adjusted, then come back together to finish it. Resizing is free, for as long as you own it.
How long does it take?
Six weeks from approved design to finished ring. If you are working to a date, say so at the start and we will be straight with you about whether we can meet it.
Can I use a stone I already own?
Yes. Share it with us, and we'll design around it. Inherited stones are some of our favourite work.
Do I need to know what I want?
No. Most people arrive with a feeling rather than a design. That's the easier place to start.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes, worldwide, fully insured.
What if i change my mind?
Nothing is made until you've approved the design, and we'd rather adjust twice than make the wrong thing once.
