Most of what we make never appears on this site.
That surprises people, because the pieces here look finished. They are finished, in the sense that we'd happily make any of them exactly as shown. But almost nobody does. What usually happens is that someone writes to us about a ring they've seen, and somewhere in the first few messages it turns into a conversation about a different stone, or a lower setting, or whether the band could be a little narrower because of the ring she already wears next to it.
That's not us being accommodating. That's just how the work goes.
Everything is a starting point
Every piece on this site can be made in yellow, white or rose gold. The stone can change: a sapphire instead of a diamond, a different size, a different cut, a different colour entirely. The setting can sit lower if you want something that won't catch, or higher if you want the stone to read bigger. The band can be wider or finer. Claws can become a bezel.
Change enough of those and you have something new, which is usually what happens.
So if you've seen something here that's almost right, tell us what the almost is. That sentence is the most useful thing you can send us.
Or bring us nothing at all
The other way people arrive is with no reference at all. A feeling, a photograph of a hand, a description of someone: she never takes her earrings out, she'd hate anything that catches on things, she wears one ring and has worn it for ten years.
That's genuinely the easier place to start. We'd rather design around a person than around a picture of someone else's ring.
And if there's a stone already
If there's something in the family, bring it. A grandmother's ring, a stone from a marriage that ended, something that's been in a drawer since the seventies. The stone keeps its history. The setting doesn't have to.
We'll tell you honestly what's possible with what you have before you consider buying anything new.
How it works
You write to us, or you book an hour. We talk it through, source stones to your brief if you need them, and show you the options side by side. Then a sketch, then a render you can look at properly, adjusted until it's right.
Nothing is made until you've seen it and said yes.
Annabel and Isabella make everything by hand in our Sydney workshop. When you commission something, you're speaking to the two people who will make it.
